The Never Ending Journey
Water flows in its own little way
On the never ending journey
Water flows from place to place
From continent to country
From streams to rivers
From lakes to oceans
On the never ending journey
Sometimes it flies into the sky
Then falls down,
Down into the world of society
Into the world of iPhone and iPod
Facebook and Twitter
Into the world of social media
Where one like will save a girls life from cancer
Passing the world unnoticed is water
on the never ending journey
People drink water like it is nothing
Something that will never run out
As if one more like will send a giant downpour of rain
Yet people hide from it when it falls from the sky
They protect their electronics from it as if it were a killer
Water,
The very thing that keeps the human race alive
People shy from it when it falls from the sky
Oh why?
Why must we be scared of rain?
It feeds the ground to help things grow
It keeps our taps from running low
It keeps the human race from dying out
So why must we run from it?
To hide in our houses and be scared of it
Because what is a little bit of rain to a drought?
Water flows in its own little way
On the never ending journey
But one day it will stop.
